PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit thread to be unerringly caught by a thread catching hook and permit stitching formation to be carried out in the space in a sewing machine head. SOLUTION: The sewing machine forms handsewing stitching on the obverse of a sewn body and lockstitch seams on the reverse by the cooperation of a crochet 13, a shuttle 200 composed of a swinging rotating hook bobbin case holder 205 installed in a rotating hook 202, and a thread draw actuator 401 as a skip stitch set, and feeds a sewn body by a stitch pitch for hand-stitching seams by a feed dog 601 in the first stroke of the crochet 13 and feeds the sewn body by an interstitch pitch for spaces between handsewing stitching by the feed dog 601 in the second stroke of the crochet 13.
