<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator for a side inflater capable of properly inflating an airbag without risk of damage, even under high speed responsiveness. <P>SOLUTION: This gas generator for the inflater has a combustion chamber of filling a gas generating agent in a cylindrical housing, a filter chamber for installing a filter material and a squib for igniting and burning an enhancer agent and the gas generating agent in the combustion chamber. In ordinary temperature (18-24°C) operation in a 1-feet cubic tank, jetting gas pressure P after 5msec from a start of current-carrying of 1.2 A, is controlled in a range of 25-90 kPa, and the increase ratio ΔP/Δt of the jetting gas pressure after 5msec is controlled to 8-20 kPa/msec. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
