PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator of a drum type ice maker with a simplified structure and manufacturing process, and a manufacturing method of the evaporator. SOLUTION: The evaporator 12 comprises a cylindrical aluminum pipe 16, and two flanges 17, 17 made of aluminum fixed to both end faces of the aluminum pipe 16 by screws 18. Screw holes 25 into which the screws 18 are inserted are formed to penetrate the aluminum pipe 16 in the axial direction at the same time upon extrusion molding of the aluminum pipe 16. A hole 20 formed in the flange 17 is communicated with two adjacent through-holes 19, 19 out of a plurality of through-holes 19 formed in the aluminum pipe 16 to constitute one continuous refrigerant flow passage 22 inside the evaporator 12.
