PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to clearly grasp at a glance whether or not each ink container replaced is correctly attached, including connection of an ink supply port to an ink inlet opening of a recording apparatus side even when the number of the ink containers attached to the recording apparatus becomes large, in the ink container which is attachable to the recording apparatus that has a cover opened for attachment and detachment of the ink containers, the ink inlet opening whereto the ink is introduced, and an apparatus side contact; and which has an ink storage part that stores the ink, the ink supply port that supplies the ink to the ink inlet opening, and a container side contact electrically connectible with the apparatus side contact. SOLUTION: A light emitting part is prepared at the ink container. At the time of attaching the ink container to the recording apparatus in a state with the cover being opened, when connection of the ink supply port to the ink inlet opening and connection of the container side contact to the apparatus side contact are carried out, the light emitting part emits light upon receipt of power supply from the recording apparatus via the apparatus side contact and the container side contact.
