PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition capable of lowering rolling resistance while keeping high abrasion resistance and good processability and to provide a tire produced by using the rubber composition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains a rubber component, a carbon black and a processing material, wherein the carbon black satisfies the requirements that (1) the heating loss of the carbon black measured by thermogravimetric analysis between 150°C and 450°C is≥0.87 mass%, (2) the toluene discoloration transmittance of the carbon black is≥90% and (3) the ratio of the nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N<SB>2</SB>SA) (m<SP>2</SP>/g) to the iodine adsorption (IA) (mg/g) of the carbon black satisfies the relationship of 1.10≤ä(N<SB>2</SB>SA)/(IA)}≤1.30, and the processing material is a fatty acid ester and/or a fatty acid metal salt.
