摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc tube with improved heat conduction efficiency inside a coil portion, and to provide a light source device and a projector which are equipped with the arc tube. <P>SOLUTION: The arc tube 51A has a pair of electrodes 8A disposed inside thereof and includes a light emitting portion which emits light by discharging between the pair of electrodes 8A. At least one of the pair of electrodes 8A includes a shank portion 81 and a coil portion 821 provided at the tip end side of the shank portion 81 which is close to the other electrode 8A. The coil portion 821 consists of one turn of a wire around the shank portion 81, and includes a plurality of winding portions 8221 arranged in the axis direction of the coil portion 821. Each winding portion 8221 has abutment surfaces 822A and 822B in surface contact with adjacent winding portions 8221. Due to this structure, a contact area of each winding portion 8221 can be increased, so that the heat conduction efficiency inside the coil portion 821 increases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
