PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a diagnostic method for objectively and quantitatively evaluating the integrity of a target by utilizing a self-regression model. SOLUTION: In the diagnostic method for diagnosing the flaw in a diagnosing target to be diagnosed in integrity in a non-destructive manner, a blow is preliminarily struck against the diagnosing target by a hammer to measure the time series data of a tap tone signal by the microphone installed in the vicinity of the blow point, a self-regression coefficient is preliminarily determined by analysis using the self-regression model, a diagnosing region to be diagnosed in integrity of the diagnosing target is struck by the hammer to determine the residual difference between the actually measured value, which is obtained by measuring the time series data of the tap tone signal by the microphone installed in the vicinity of the blow point, and the estimate value estimated from the time series data of the tap tone signal in the diagnosing region by applying the self-regression coefficient and the presence and absence of the flaw in the diagnosing target are discriminated on the basis of the magnitude of the residual difference.
