A method for preparing an unsaturated carboxylic acid and nitrile is provided to prevent the sulfur poisoning and to improve the processing efficiency by integrating the continuous sulfur removing technique and the alkane ammoxidation technique. A method for preparing an unsaturated carboxylic acid and nitrile comprises the steps of reacting an alkane with oxygen, ammonia or a gas containing oxygen and ammonia in the presence of an oxidation catalyst to the product containing a saturated carboxylic acid or nitrile of certain concentration which contains at least one kind of unsaturated carboxylic acid or nitrile and the sulfur impurities; and performing ammoxidation of the alkane into an unsaturated carboxylic acid or nitrile with reducing the concentration of the sulfur impurities by absorption. |
