<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber lighting system for supplying sufficiently bright illumination light. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber lighting system includes: a semiconductor laser 10 for emitting excitation light 100; a single fiber 20 for guiding the excitation light 100 emitted from the semiconductor laser 10; a phosphor unit 30 for receiving the excitation light 100 emitted from the single fiber 20 and emitting fluorescence having a wavelength different from the excitation light 100; and a fiber bundle 40 for guiding at least a part of the fluorescence emitted from the phosphor unit 30. The optical fiber lighting system further includes a reflector 50 in which at least a part of light not directly made incident in an incident region of the fiber bundle 40 out of reflected and scattered light generated by the phosphor unit 30 and/or the fluorescence emitted from the phosphor unit 30 is reflected toward the incident region of the fiber bundle 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
