PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insert a torsion bar to a link pipe without shortening the whole length of the torsion bar and without increasing a pipe diameter of the link pipe, and to fixedly assemble a base of the torsion bar to one end of the link pipe. SOLUTION: The lift assistant mechanism has the link pipe 12 extending in a left/right direction, fixedly bonded to bases 31, 31 at one end and supported on the bases 31, 31; a shaft fitting 13 with a slit; a hollow shaft fitting 17; and a twisted reaction force transmission arm 21 respectively. It includes the torsion bar 19 inserted into the link pipe 12 by inserting it while rotating a baffle end 20 from the hollow shaft fitting 17, twisting it to an outer side of the hollow shaft fitting by inserting the baffle end into the slit 15 of the shaft fitting 13 with the slit, having a seat cushion side slidably supported on a distal end of the arm 21 by stretching the reaction force transmission arm 21, and having a distal end twistably and returnably supported on the hollow shaft fitting 17.
