PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge in which backflow of ink in a liquid ejection head of the liquid ejection apparatus is prevented to block air inflow into the liquid ejection head when first mounting an ink cartridge in a liquid ejection apparatus. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 100 is provided for supplying a liquid into a liquid ejection apparatus by being mounted in the liquid ejection apparatus, and the ink cartridge 100 includes a cartridge body 120 having an open opening on one side and a flexible film 130 forming an ink containing chamber 111 that is a closed space for containing a liquid together with the cartridge body 120 by covering the opening of the cartridge body 120, wherein the flexible film 130 is deformed on the side of the ink containing chamber 111 by atmospheric pressure applied thereto when the ink cartridge is removed from a vacuum bag 101 for packing, so that the pressure in the ink containing chamber 111 is increased.
