An apparatus and a method for allocating resources in a VoIP service are provided to improve efficiency of resource allocation by grasping a VoIP data talkspurt period and a silent descriptor silent period in a base station scheduler. A size of A payload of a VoIP packet generated in an upper part of the PDCP(Packet Data Convergence Protocol) layer of the terminal or the base station is tested in a VoIP service(410). Whether the generated VoIP packet is the silence data is tested(420). If the size of the payload is identical with the payload size of silence data, 1 is indicated in an SID indicator field(430). If the size of the payload is larger than the size of the payload of the silence data, 0 is indicated in the SID indicator field(440). The algorithm is terminated. |
