PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the display quality of multi-level display by preventing a display unevenness based on variations in elements without increasing the power consumption in an active EL display device. SOLUTION: In this active EL display device provided with an EL element 10 having a light emitting layer between an anode and a cathode, a TFT for drive which is connected between the EL element and a power source potential and drives the current of the EL element, a switching TFT 1 which is connected to a dislay signal line and is turned ON/OFF in accordance with a selection signal and a capacitor 2 which holds the voltage of the display signal inputted via the switching TFT 1 and supplies the held voltage to the gate of the TFT for drive, the TFT for drive is constituted by connecting a first TFT 40 and a second TFT 41 whose size is smaller than that of the TFT 40 and whose threshold voltage is lower than that of the TFT 40 in series. |
