The invention relates to a device for installing and removing power-steering pulleys, using the principles of hydraulics, consisting of a cylindrical casing (3) which is sealed in order to maintain the hydraulic pressure therein and which has a diameter equal to that of the shaft of the power-steering pulley. The casing (3) contains a piston (11) with a central rod (9) which move from one end of the casing (3) to the other such that the casing pulls the pulley during the removal thereof and pushes the pulley during installation. The device enables the user to install and remove the pulley without removing the mechanical parts around the power-steering shaft on which the operation is being performed, thereby reducing the required time and stress since the device is very compact and the hydraulic force used to actuate same is exerted remotely from the device with a universal hydraulic pump (22) by means of a high-pressure flexible hose (23).
