The method involves downloading a generic packet comprising an encrypted content and an application for reading the content, conceived for a mobile terminal from a digital content server. The downloaded packet is activated by sending an activation request to a digital right management server and by generating a header using the server. The header permits decrypting of the content, and includes a unique identifier e.g. international mobile equipment identity, linked to a user platform for permitting reading of the content only by the application on the terminal of the user platform. An independent claim is also included for a user platform comprising a mobile terminal and activation units.
