<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily achieve miniaturization of an image forming apparatus by reducing restrictions in terms of arrangement planning of respective mechanisms in the apparatus when providing a drum cover. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a photoreceptor drum 3 to face a paper conveying path on the back side of an opening/closing cover 6, and provided with the drum cover 7 which protects the photoreceptor drum 3 as the opening/closing cover 6 is opened, and which retreats therefrom as the opening/closing cover 6 is closed, and provided with a cover moving mechanism 8 slidably moving the drum cover 7. The drum cover 7 is flexible sheet material, and a frame 9 is attached nearly all over the entire length between the front edge part 7a and the rear edge part 7b in a slidably moving direction of the drum cover 7. The apparatus is provided with a tension applying mechanism T applying tension in the slidably moving direction of the drum cover 7. The tension applying mechanism T is constituted to apply tension to the drum cover 7 through a front frame 9a and a rear frame 9b, and the drum cover 7 has a fold nearly parallel with the frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
