PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrophotographic toner having proper color reproducibility, transparency and light resistance. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic toner contains a dyestuff expressed by the general formula (1) and a copper compound, where R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>represent hydrogen or a substituent respectively, R<SP>3</SP>represents N<SP>+</SP>(R<SP>4</SP>)R<SP>5</SP>or O<SP>+</SP>R<SP>6</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are same as R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>represents hydrogen or a substituent, X<SP>1</SP>-X<SP>4</SP>and Y<SP>1</SP>-Y<SP>4</SP>represent -C(R<SP>7</SP>)= or -N=, and R<SP>7</SP>represents hydrogen or a substituent.
