PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet stacking device capable of stacking sheets in a constantly correct posture irrespective of the material of a sheet surface when stacking the sheets on a stacking tray. SOLUTION: The sheet stacking device comprises a tray means arranged on the downstream side of a paper discharge port, a sheet end regulating member provided on the tray means, a conveying means for transferring the sheet conveyed out of the paper discharge port on the tray means toward the sheet end regulating member, and a conveyance control means for controlling the conveying means. The conveyance control means makes the operational time of the conveying means for giving the conveying force to the sheet different from each other according to the surface material of the sheet when conveying the sheet conveyed on the tray means toward the sheet end regulating member.
