A system for wireless public certification service using an electronic signature through a mobile terminal and a method for providing the service are provided to request and authenticate an electronic signature to an authentication organization by a PKI agent server instead of a CP server by having the PKI agent server. A mobile terminal(10) of a client comprises a public authentication certificate module in which an authentication certificate issued from an authentication issuing organization is put, an electronic signature module in which an electronic signature based on the public authentication certificate is written by a private signature key, and an encryption module having a server authentication certificate which encrypts various transmission data when transmitting a service request. A client DB server(20) of a mobile communication company performs client verification included in authentication signature service request information according to a terminal ID number. An authentication organization(30) performs electronic signature verification according to the received electronic signature verification request.
