<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinhole detection device capable of detecting the formation of a pinhole in a balloon in an early stage in a heating type balloon catheter apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A first wire 26 for an external electrode 27 and a second wire 13 for an internal electrode 3 in the balloon 2 are connected to a high-frequency heating power supply 25, and a high-frequency current is applied to the respective electrodes 3 and 27 to heat the internal electrode 3. Separation means 51 allowing the passing of only a low-frequency current is connected to the respective wires 13 and 26. A measurement power supply 61 for supplying a low-frequency measurement alternating current is connected to specific portions 13a and 26a out of the respective wires 13 and 26 after separating the high-frequency current by the separation means 51, via volume couplers 62 and 63. The presence/absence of the pinhole is determined by measuring a change in the current between the specific portions 13a and 26a, and the determination result is output to notification means 84. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
