PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermochromic composition that leaves only little color after erasing a color, and exhibits comparatively large discoloring color difference. SOLUTION: The thermochromic composition comprises an electron-donating colorating organic compound, an electron-accepting compound, and a desensitizer, wherein, the desensitizer contains either one or both of (1) a fatty acid methyl ester having a total carbon number of at least 5 and (2) a fatty acid amide having a total carbon number of at least 4.
