<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a cutout portion in the outer peripheral face of an outer ring guide type cage 13. <P>SOLUTION: This self-aligning roller bearing A comprises rolling elements 14 laid between an inner ring 11 and an outer ring 12 via the outer ring guide type cage 13. The cage 13 having an outer peripheral face partially cut out can be loaded into the outer ring via the cutout portion. A crescent auxiliary member 13a is fixed to the outside of the cutout portion with a bolt 15, and the cage outer peripheral face is a circumferential face contacting an outer ring inner peripheral face 12a ranging all over the periphery. Since the cage outer peripheral face is the circumferential face contacting the outer ring inner peripheral face ranging all over the periphery, the cage 13 contacts the outer ring inner peripheral face 12a via a circular face at all times.
