PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stabilizer for protein wherein the stabilizer can stabilize a protein in aqueous solution containing enzymes, recombinant proteins, antibodies, peptides, etc. widely utilized as diagnostic agents, test agents and medicaments and does not reduce the activity of the protein over the long term, and a method for stabilizing the protein. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a stabilizer for aqueous solution containing at least one kind of proteins selected from the group consisting of an enzyme, recombinant protein, antibody and peptide, wherein the stabilizer comprises a salt (A) of arginine with an organic acid (a), and contains the salt (A) of arginine with the organic acid (a) at a concentration of 0.001-0.5 mol/L based on the volume of the aqueous solution containing the protein.
