PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed type constant velocity universal joint capable of being downsized, suppressing the degradation of load capacity at an operating angle even if downsized, and improved in high-angle strength and durability by alleviating the ride of balls on a track at a high angle. SOLUTION: The fixed type constant velocity universal joint comprises an external member formed with a plurality of track grooves 22 on an inner spherical surface 21, internal member formed with a plurality of track grooves 25 on an outer spherical surface 24, a plurality of balls 27 interposed between the track grooves 22 of the external member and the track grooves 25 of the internal member to transmit torque, and a cage 28 having a pocket for storing the balls 27 and interposed between the external member and the internal member. A number of the balls 27 is made to be six. A ratio of a pitch circle diameter of the ball 27 to a diameter of the ball 27 is made to be 3.0-3.3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
