<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission capable of preventing the occurrence of loss in the transmission and achieving efficient operation by optimizing amount of lubricating oil supplied into each part of the transmission. <P>SOLUTION: In this toroidal continuously variable transmission, a trunnion 15 is provided with a lubricating oil path 70 branched into a traction face and a power roller bearing, respectively, to supply lubricating oil. The lubricating oil path 70 is provided with a flowing-in oil passage 71 in which lubricating oil flows from the outside, a traction side oil passage 72 branched from the flowing-in oil passage 71 to supply lubricating oil onto the traction face, and a bearing side oil passage 73 branched from the flowing-in oil passage 71 to supply lubricating oil into the power roller bearing. Cross sectional area of a first oil passage 74 on a traction side being a start end of the traction side oil passage 72 is smaller than cross sectional area of a first oil passage 76 on a bearing side being a start end of the bearing side oil passage 73. Consequently, flow rate of oil in the traction side oil passage 72 is smaller than flow rate of oil in the bearing side oil passage 73. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
