PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a working efficiency by facilitating a work of stacking a plate-like object such as a glass plate on a spacer and a work of pulling out the plate-like object that is in a stacked state. SOLUTION: The spacer is placed between up-and-down adjacent glass plates when a plurality of the glass plates are up-and-down stacked in a horizontal posture, and has the first area B1 where the outline of the spacer 1 is located outward of the outline of the glass plate or both the outlines are located in the same line in a plan view and the second area B2 where the outline of the glass plate is located outward of the outline of the spacer 1. The spacer has the second area on each of both the left and right sides wherein the outermost part Ge in the left and right direction of the glass plate is located outward of the outermost part 1E in the left and right direction of the glass plate.
