PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill processor which, even if a bill with a sharp fold line is inserted, can secure enough space to receive subsequent bills. SOLUTION: In the bill processor which discharges temporarily retained bills BNs while keeping them aligned, a soft pressing member 9 made of a plastic sheet or the like is disposed near a bill exit 13 of a temporarily retaining part 2; a folded bill BNa is pressed by the pressing member 9 from behind along the direction of conveyance and from its top face.
