PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preignition detection device of a vehicle engine detecting the occurrence of preignition in the engine according to ion current and improving the accuracy of detecting preignition intensity by enlarging an ion current detection window. SOLUTION: This preignition detection device comprises: an ignition plug 7; an ignition circuit 8; a PCM 30 for controlling the ignition discharge timing of the ignition plug; an ion current detection circuit 8d for detecting ion current; and a PCM 30 for detecting the occurrence of preignition according to ion current. The PCM 30 stops or delays the ignition discharge of the ignition plug 7 by the ignition circuit 8 when the ion current detection circuit 8d detects ion current before the ignition discharge by the ignition plug 7. The PCM 30 detects the preignition intensity according to ion current while the ignition discharge by the ignition plug 7 is stopped or delayed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
