ILLUMINATING DEVICE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both thinning and securement of rigidity concerning an illuminating device and a liquid crystal display.

SOLUTION: A light guide plate 302 is formed so that a face positioned opposite to a light-irradiating face PS in a second light guide part 322 contains a concave part RE recessed toward the light-irradiating face PS against a face positioned opposite to the light-irradiating face PS in a first light guide part 321. Then, a convex part CV applied with a drawing process so as to protrude toward a side where the light guide plate 302 is housed is formed at a bottom plate 331 of a sheet metal frame 303 in correspondence with the concave part RE of the light guide plate 302.
