A grain thresher for a general-purpose combine, where required power is reduced as far as possible by optimizing a relationship between an auger and comb teeth that constitute a screw rotor. Further, a relationship structure between the auger and the comb teeth is improved so that selecting capabilities are not impaired even if the required power is reduced. A screw rotor where an auger is windingly provided on the outer periphery of a rotor constructed from a rotating tube and where comb teeth are radially projected from the auger, wherein the ratio between the height of the auger windingly provided on the rotor and the amount of the projection of the comb teeth from the auger is set such that, when the height of the auger is 5, the projection amount of the comb teeth is from 1.57 to 5.4.
