PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical beacon capable of easily adjusting an uplink area in a short time period. SOLUTION: An optical beacon includes a photodetector unit 11 for setting, to a predetermined road range, an uplink area in which uplink information transmitted from an onboard unit is receivable. The photodetector unit 11 is configured of a plurality of photodetector elements 171-175 disposed in parallel. Among the plurality of photodetector elements 171-175, at least photodetector 171, 175 disposed on the end sides of the parallel direction are made to be the photodetector elements for adjustment of which use or nonuse is selectively switchable.
