The invention relates to a door for a household appliance that includes a door exterior structure, an outer-side decorative panel, and an interconnecting element. The outer-side decorative panel is spaced from the door exterior structure by a gap. The interconnecting element extends across the gap between the door exterior structure and the outer-side decorative panel and interconnects the outer-side decorative panel and the door exterior structure to one another. The interconnecting element has a first extending member that is received in the gap and a second extending member that is attached to one of an edge of the door exterior structure and an edge of the outer-side decorative panel.
