Disclosed is a method of treating a disease involving myelin and/or axonal loss, such as a demyelinating disease, in a mammal comprising administering a compound of formula I, in which R1-R11and n are defined herein. Also disclosed are methods of using a compound of formula 1 to treat neurodegeneration associated with inflammation and to reduce myelin and/or axonal loss.
