<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new inexpensive optical compensation sheet for a TN mode, wherein viewing angle compensation ability and color change dependent on a viewing angle are improved, and to provide a polarizing plate using the optical compensation sheet and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation sheet for a TN-mode liquid crystal display device includes at least one transparent film and satisfies the formulae (1): 40≤Re(550)≤130 and (2): 100≤Rth(550)≤200, wherein Re(λ) is an in-plane retardation value for light at a wavelength of λ nm, and Rth(λ) is a retardation value in a thickness direction for light at a wavelength of λ nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
