The method involves measuring operating voltage present in a network side of a main switch (3), where the voltage is supplied by an electronic component e.g. diode (4) or rectifier, which generates direct current. A switching-on process of a digital device is started with the operating voltage. Synchronism of the process is checked with presence of charging current and/or with presence of a preset variable of the current by device software. The process is interrupted according to a checking result, and the digital device is switched-over to a standby operation.
