<p>The commutator for delivering high current to a motor-generator has a rotor with mutually isolated commutator bars configured with a circular outer surface, and a stator having a circular stator frame with guide members extending radially inwardly and with commutator brushes positioned between adjacent pairs of the guide members, the commutator brushes presenting surfaces facing radially inwardly. Compression springs are positioned between the stator frame and the commutator brushes to urge them inwardly against the commutator bars. Flexible conductors are engaged between the commutator brushes and the stator frame, and these conductors extend with the compression springs to maintain electrical continuity between the brushes and the stator frame.</p> |
