PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molecule converting light energy into unidirectional rotational energy at a molecular level (light-driven rotating molecule). SOLUTION: The light-driven rotating molecule has a pigment site and a block unit which bind to a rotating shaft, the above block unit positioning in the rotational orbit of the pigment site.
