The heating strand (114) has two electric conducting devices (15, 17) with different electric resistances in preset operating conditions. A conductor strand and/or one of the conducting devices have cores, and the other conducting device is wound around one of the cores. The cores, the conducting devices and/or the conductor strand have a thickness of 0.1 millimeters (mm) to 0.2 mm, and are made of steel, copper, copper alloy, polyethylene (PE), polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) and polyamide (PA). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an electric heating device.
