A digital television brightness control apparatus is provided to output state information about on/off of a lighting fixture or it bright level to a digital television and enable the digital television to automatically adjust screen brightness in response to the state information. A lighting fixture changes circumference brightness by provided power. A control module outputs state information including an operation state of the lighting fixture and lighting fixture information. A home network controller(30) outputs the state information inputted from the control module. A memory unit(43) is installed in a digital television, and stores screen brightness information corresponding to the state information. A micom(41) is installed in the digital television, and extracts the screen brightness information corresponding to the state information inputted from the home network controller from the memory unit. The micom outputs a control signal according to the screen brightness information. A brightness controller(42) is installed in the digital television and controls screen brightness of the digital television in response to the control signal inputted from the MICOM.
