The device has a mechanical gripping hand (1) comprising a seat gripping unit for immobilizing a seat with respect to the hand. The hand is suspended at a mobile support (2) by a ball joint (6), where the support comprises a seat weight compensation system. The ball joint provides degree of freedom of rotational movement to the hand around two axes. One of the axes passes though the ball joint and near the center of gravity determined by the gripped seat. Another axis is perpendicular to former axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabrication of a vehicle.
