PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active type sound effect generation device capable of generating more natural sound effect. SOLUTION: A control means 201 (a fourth sound adjustment unit 54 and a fifth sound adjustment unit 55) of the active type sound effect generation device 101 determines an amplitude of a control signal Sc by adjusting amplitudes of reference signals Sr1, Sr 2and Sr3 (intermediate signals Si4 and Si5), according to an engine rotation cycle frequency change amountΔaf [Hz/sec] which is calculated by an engine rotation frequency change amount calculation unit 68, and an accelerator opening rate Aor [%] which is detected by an accelerator opening sensor 60.
