PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of preventing noise generation. SOLUTION: In the electric power steering device, a damping roller 15 is mounted to one end surface 19a of a reduction gear 19. A part of the outer peripheral surface of the damping roller 19 is pressed to a conical part 31 being a part of a pinion shaft 18 by constant pressing pressure. When the reduction gear 19 is rotationally oscillated by a reverse input from a road surface, rotation is transmitted from the reduction gear 19 to the pinion shaft 18 without through the engaging part of a pinion gear 20 and the reduction gear 19 but through a contact part of the damping roller 15 and the conical part 31, and the engagement state of the pinion gear 20 and the reduction gear 19 is maintained. The collision of tooth faces of the pinion gear 20 and the reduction gear 19 is prevented, to prevent the noise generation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
