PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent noise from being output by detecting a state with no signal without delay and immediately operating a mute circuit even when the no signal occurs during receiving. SOLUTION: The receiver of this invention is a receiver including a signal strength detecting part for detecting a signal strength value of a received signal, a detecting part for detecting the received signal, a sound outputting part for outputting the detected signal by sound, and a muting part for controlling an input of the detected signal to the sound outputting part. The receiver includes a control part for controlling an input of the detected signal to the sound outputting part by the muting part when a decrement in the signal strength value at a prescribed time is equal to or greater than a prescribed set value.
