POLYMERIZABLE COMPOUND AND OPTICAL FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new optical film that further controls a wavelength dependence of phase difference value and a new compound that provides the film.

SOLUTION: The polymerizable compound is represented by the formula (1) (wherein C1 is a quaternary carbon atom or the like; A1 and A2 are each a cyclic hydrocarbon group or a heterocyclic group; D1 and D2 are each a hydrocarbon group or a heterocyclic group and at least one hydrogen atom contained in D1 and D2 is substituted with an electron withdrawing group; B1 and B2 are each a connecting group or a single bond; X1 and X2 are each a bivalent group represented by the formula (2) (wherein A3 is -C(=O)-C6H4-, a cyclic hydrocarbon group or a heterocyclic group; B3 is as shown for the B1; and n is an integer of 1-4); E1 and E2 are each an alkylene group; P1 and P2 are each a hydrogen atom or a polymerizable group and at least one of P1 and P2 is a polymerizable group).
