PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating compressor capable of integrating a flow passage between a plurality of cylinders, while restraining enlargement. SOLUTION: This reciprocating compressor has a motor 2, a casing 3, the plurality of cylinders 4, a piston 5, a plurality of suction flow passages, a plurality of discharge flow passages 7, an integrated suction flow passage 9 and an integrated discharge flow passage 8. The plurality of cylinders 4 are each arranged so that the cylinder axis direction runs in the orthogonal direction to the axial direction of a motor shaft 2s, and the integrated suction flow passage 9 and the integrated discharge flow passage 8 are arranged so as to overlap with at least any of an axial area in the axial direction of the motor shaft 2s and its peripheral area.
