MOTOR ROTATION CONTROL METHOD, MOTOR ROTATION CONTROL DEVICE, AND MONITORING CAMERA UNIT EMPLOYING THE MOTOR ROTATION CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct non-uniformity in a rotation angle of a stepping motor simply and inexpensively without using any dedicated device. SOLUTION: A rotation control method for a motor that rotates a turnable lens barrel 3 at each fixed angle includes the steps of: scanning a test image including an identification reference line in a state where the lens barrel 3 stops turning; measuring a time t0 from the start of scanning to reach the identification reference line regarding a synchronizing signal of a predetermined order and storing the measured time in a memory means temporarily; turning the lens barrel 3 at the fixed angle; scanning the same test image and measuring a time t1 from the start of scanning to reach the identification reference line regarding the synchronizing signal of the same order; determining a time difference between the time t1 and the time t0; discriminating whether the time difference is set within an allowable time required for rotating the motor just at the fixed angle; and controlling power feeding to the motor on the basis of the discriminating result.
