PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for a ballpoint pen, usable for a ballpoint pen having a structure to directly fill the ink into an ink-holding tube, preventing center-dropping handwriting, which has no ink near the center portion of the handwriting, generating little bleeding, and thus creating beautiful handwriting. SOLUTION: This ink composition for a ballpoint pen has 1.0 or less of tanδat the angular frequency of 100 (rad/s) measured within 5 seconds at 25°C after applying shearing for 20 seconds at the shearing rate of 1,000 (1/s) at 25°C.
