PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual examination device that inspects the appearance state of an inspection target in a short inspection time, and to provide an image processing method thereof. SOLUTION: A label inspection device 1 for inspecting the state of the label applied to the surface to be inspected of each of bottles B is equipped with an inspection table 512 for allowing each of the bottles B to turn on its axis, an index table 511 for revolving the inspection table, a line camera 52 for successively imaging the bottles B over one periphery or above of each of them to output the images of the bottles B as scanning images, and a control part 53 having an image processing part that sets an image, which is obtained by connecting the scanning images over one periphery or above of each of the scanning images by the line camera 52, as the original image, sets the cut image cut out of the original image over one periphery as the image of the surface to be inspected, judges whether the inspection target image contained in the image of the surface to be inspected is divided, bisects the image of the surface to be inspected from the position corresponding to the reference position of the surface to be inspected when the image of the surface to be inspected is judged to be divided, and replaces the respective positions of the bisected images of the surface to be inspected to connect the bisected images to form an inspection image.
