PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back ring for backpacks which prevents hair of a schoolchild, a collar of clothes, and the like from being caught by an opening part provided in the upper part of a base plate. SOLUTION: This back ring for backpacks includes: a base plate 1 formed with a partition body 8 having a closing part 7 continued to left/right symmetrical locking parts 6 at its central upper part, opening parts 9 in the both left/right sides of the partition body, and outside guide face parts 11 in the both ends of a wall part 10 provided at the circumferential edge in the other side of the opening parts; a thin-plate cover body 2 for covering the surface of the base plate; swinging arms 3 having inside ends 12a of body parts 12 locked to the locking parts, having guide sleeve portions 15a for covering the upper part of the closing part at the inside ends 12b of the body parts, having guide sleeve portions 15b substantially abutting on the outside guide face parts at the outside ends 12b of the body parts, having connection parts 16 for attaching one ends of shoulder belts B to the upper ends of the trunk parts; springs 4 for urging the swinging arms toward the central direction mutually; and a suspension ring 5 attached at the central part of the partition body 8 and attached to a support body 13 for hiding the upper parts of the guide sleeve parts of the swinging arms.
