PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure rigidity and improve durability even in any size of pocket pusher plates. SOLUTION: This pocket-attaching device of the sewing machine includes a base part, a body section pusher for pushing a body section, a pocket pusher for pushing a pocket cloth, and a control part for controlling the body section pusher and the pocket pusher. The pocket pusher has a pocket pusher plate for pushing the pocket cloth stacked on the body section via a notch of the body section pusher, an advance/retreat part supporting the pocket pusher plate at its tip end for advancing/retreating the pocket pusher plate relative to the notch and having a base end turnably supported at the base part, a connection block for connecting the tip end of the advance/retreat part to the pocket pusher plate, and a pocket lifting/lowering part for lifting/lowering the pocket pusher plate by turning the advance/retreat part.
